How to store your camera raw images? In this test we compared several (GUI) archiving formats to Adobe's DNG format to see which solution produces the smallest filesize.

Extracting the raw files worked without errors with all tested archiving formats, but we were not able to restore the orginal raw from Adobe DNG format which tells us that

you won't get back your original raw once they were converted to DNG.

The best archiver in this test is free and outperforms all other archivers tested in terms of compression, but it is also the slowest solution (2.8 MB/sec).

Some time ago there was a better and faster solution called Rawzor created by Sachin Garg, but the currently offered beta of Rawzor 0.47 does not work anymore.
